A PAIR of Scots politicians have joined forces in a bid to save a local post office amid a raft of 115 countrywide closures.
Dr Scott Arthur, the MP for Edinburgh South West, and his Labour compatriot councillor Stephen Jenkins are working to prevent Wester Hailes Post Office from shutting down.
It was announced last week (13 NOV) that 115 Post Office branches would close across the country with two in Edinburgh amongst the victims - Wester Hailes and Edinburgh City Post Office.
However, the duo isn’t letting the Wester Hailes branch go quietly as they seek support to save a branch that they call “a vital community hub, in one of Scotland's most deprived communities”.
