Christmas market prices leave Scots shocked as sausage costs punters almost a tenner

EDINBURGH’S Christmas markets have opened their doors for the festive season, but the prices at some of the stalls have left some locals far from merry. 

The market’s stalls and attractions have always been a point of contention for visitors, with this time round being no different. 

A local taking a tour of the markets yesterday (MON) stopped by the bratwurst stall looking for a bite to eat but couldn’t believe their eyes after spotting the price board. 

A simple sausage will set customers back £9 according to the board, with a serving of fries listed as £5 by itself.
